Motherless Brooklyn is a great film that we don't see often but that isn't surprising. Edward Norton originally planned to make his movie long ago but the project finally took off now. I love the idea of his character and boy does he bring him to life. For the duration of the movie the story moves along smoothly with good pacing - credit to the jazzy score - but at the end I felt that the stakes should have been higher for Alec Baldwin's character. Maybe have him get his just due instead of a truths? Despite that and few more things, Norton proves himself to be a mastermind while juggling the responsibilities of producer, director, writer and best of all actor. Perhaps this film, not movie, because that's what it is, a film noir, should win an award for adapted screenplay. Interesting take on the noir genre.
